The witches protection bottle, now what witchcrafting site would be complete without?
Almost every culture throughout the world and time has had some form of the "witches
bottle". Ancient cultures often used horns of animals or gourds to hold the contents of the "spell". Their purposes range
from break-up bottles, love bottles, protection of course, healing and the hoodoo and "catholic" versions that called out
to particular saints for assistance in any matter.
Here I have complied a few of the protection type, use them wisely and carefully, protection
bottles hold great strength and power when properly made and charged.
ALSO be FOREWARNED, depending what is placed in the bottle, they can go rancid and BLOW
UP. Not pretty if you are using classic items in your bottle such as urine, blood and other bodily fluids, so it you plan
on making a protection bottle of that type, my advice is to BURY it in the Earth, that is usually where they work best anyway,
as you are grounding the negativity being aimed at you.
Bottle to generally protect can be placed in the back of a closet, buried in the Earth
(under the threshold is a good spot), or kept out in plain view. It's all personal choice, if anyone tells you otherwise they've
been reading too many books and following too many rules.
For protection bottles that are made to aim at a specific person or persons the best
spot is either outside the door you pass in and out of your home most often OR where they will cross it. Don't get arrested,
and if you do you're on your own. That's my disclaimer.
PLEASE DO NOT BURY CRAP, IE PLASTIC IN THE EARTH, THERE IS ENOUGH CRAP BEING ABSORBED
INTO HER! If you are an urban witch try a flower pot....think outside the box witches! Make sure it is large enough
that if the bottle blows you don't have a room covered in dirt and urine. If it does blow check out our cleansing spells page . That is a semi-joke, but check out that page anyway!
Basic Witches
Protection Bottle
Use a glass jar with
a lid you can seal tightly ie- baby food jar or a mason jar.
Fill the
jar halfway with small sharp objects ie nails, pins, metal scrapings, broken glass, razor blades, etc.
Once the
jar is half full with these objects add a clove of garlic and fill the rest with a mixture of blessed
water and salt.
Put the top on the
jar and be sure it's secured. The top can now be sealed with black wax or tied with a black ribbon.
You can either bury the jar ( at least a foot deep ) or keep it in a closet closest to the
door you use most often to enter and leave the house.
Home Protection Jar
1 glass jar 1/2 to 1 cup salt 3
cloves garlic 9 bay leaves
dried Basil
dill seeds
sage
anise
black pepper
fennel
bowl
In the morning ideally
on a bright sunny day assemble the items.Place in the bowl and say:
"Salt that protects, protect my
home and all within."
Add the cloves of garlic: "Garlic
that protects, protect my home and all within."
Crumble the Bay leaves and place
in the bowl:
"Bay that protects, protect my home
and all within."
Add the basil and say: "Basil that
protects, protect my home and all within."
Add the dill and say: "Dill that
protects, protect my home and all within."
Add the sage and say: "Sage that
protects, protect my home and all within."
Add the anise and say: "Anise that
protects, protect my home and all within."
Add the fennel and say: "Fennel
that protects, protect my home and all within."
Mix together the salt and the herbs
with your hands, throughout the movement
of your hands and fingers lend energy
to the potent protective items, visualize
your home safe and as a shining
secure place. Pour the mixture in the jar and cap tightly,
Place it in your home with these
words: "Salt and herbs, nine times nine
Guard now this home of mine"
Some Chants to Assist
Here are some chants you can use when
compiling your bottles:
Protection Chant Spell
"A spell of safety here I cast,
A ward of might to hold me fast.
A shield before me and behind,
To right and left protection bind.
To me may no ill whit come neigh,
But only She Whose Rede I cry!
So mote it be!"
Dark Moon Protection Chant
"Dark moon Lady Crone
By the power and by Your might
Send what is deserved and set things right.
No harm is the intent, just make all this relent
And keep me very safe from the energy that is sent."
Chant to Protect an Object
With the first and middle fingers, trace a pentagram over
the object to be protected.
Visualize electric blue or purple flame streaming from your
fingers to form the pentagram.
Say this as you trace:
"With this pentagram I lay
Protection here both night and day.
And the one who should not touch
Let his fingers burn and twitch
I now invoke the law of three:
This is my will, so mote it be!"
Troublemaker Jar
Write the name of the
person on a piece of parchment/paper, fold it twice. Take a lime and cut it twice, once diagonally and
once horizontally, but don't cut it all the way into four pieces. Place the paper or parchment inside
the lime and hold it together with two long steel nails.
Place the lime into
a clean glass jar and put into it some ash, salt and vinegar and screw the lid on tight.
The ash and salt are
to thwart their efforts to cause you trouble of any kind, and the vinegar and lime sour their own
affairs at the same time.
Thread Protection
Bottle
(This one is a recycling
spell ;)
Find a large bottle
and stuff it with small pieces of thread of many colors (expect black).
This project will
probably take you many weeks, since only small pieces of thread (one to
three inches in length)
should be used, and east must be introduced into the bottle separately.
As you add each piece
of thread, say :
TANGLE THE BANE UP!
TANGLE THE BANE UP!

When the bottle is
full, cap and place it in a window, in the attic or in a cupboard.
