In witchcraft, to cleanse or clear something (actually anything) is to remove any energies
that might have attached to the object...person...room, whatever, so that it can be re-programmed, or recharged with an energy
that better suits the casters purpose.
For best spell results items used should be properly cleansed and clearing prior to
casting. This is not about just going through the motions, this is about actually moving the energy, the whole point of witchcraft!
Focus and intent are needed, as always!
Once the item has been properly cleared you can fill the void with whatever you wish,
drawing in energy to it and charging the object.
And what would the point be in clearing or cleansing a specific object, if your surroundings
are still fill with negative energy. Your home, or at least your sacred space should always be a place of serenity and comfort.
You don't have to wait for the negative or stangnant energies to build up, if you do it will begin to affect all areas of
your life and then you will be scrambling to clear them.

Quick Tips:
To banish always work in a counter-clockwise
manner, to promote something work clockwise
Make a tranquilty washwater or ritual water by crushing 1/2 oz of white rose petals in 16 oz of spring water. Let the
rose petals steep for three days, strain and bottle the liquid for use.
To get rid of an unwanted "guest" sprinkle
salt in their shoes and imagine them outside your home.
Sprinkle salt in the windowsills or around the
border of your property to cleanse and block of negativity
Keep a bowl of salt by the door. Sprinkle across
threshold after an unwanted visitor leaves to cleanse the negativity they left behind and to keep them from coming back
Place a pot of herbs on the stove (in water of
course) and simmer away negativity
Take a shower and scrub ( gently ) down with
sea salts to cleanse yourself and your mind
Smudge and burn incense on a regular basis, don't
wait for the negavity to build to the point where it begins to effect you
Place an onion under the sink to absorb negativity,
replace every few months
Fill a misting bottle with water you have blessed.
You can add salt, a few drops of essential oil, or herbs that correspond w/ cleansing/clearing. Spritz away when you feel
the need
Hang a braid of garlic bulbs in the kitchen
to adsorb negativity, replace any you might use, and ALWAYS leave at least one on the braid
Take a stone from outside and focus all your
negativity into, feel it drain from within you, now bury it at crossroads or cast it into moving water, that flows AWAY from
you
Place Quartz Crystals through the home to absorb
negativity, cleanse them as needed. Different stones have different attributes, all types quartz are good for absorbing
negative energies, however they each have their specialities, and be sure to clear and cleanse the stones as you don't need
a quartz full of negativity laying around the home!
Place plants or fresh flowers throughout the
home, the plants will add oxgen and both the plants and flowers will help to absorb negative energy
To get rid of unwanted
visitors you should place a broom UPSIDE DOWN by the front door. If you can, make a small sweeping motion as place the broom,
and if you can do this without being noticed, so much the better. This will speed such people on their way and give
you some peace of mind.
