Clearing the Clutter

As the darkness of winter passes til the wheel turns through again, we can get the energy moving in both our homes and our lives by clearing out and making way for new.

Spring cleaning might be something that you dread and you will continue dreading it as long as you have that attitude. Make it enjoyable.
Pick a weekend, or several warm night during the week. Throw open the windows and let the fresh air in. The air in our homes can grow so stale over the winter! Light a few candles throughout the home and put on your favorite CD. I love to clean to the "Buddha Lounge" Series. Funky and fun, it's upbeat yet keeps my mind focused.
Ladies, DO NOT FORGET YOUR TIARAS! Don't have one?! Make one, find one, get one! You're a queen and need to treat yourself as such ;)
When you clean the home do each room throughout counterclockwise, it will help from new clutter building up.
Make two pile with the items you no longer use trash and donate. When you fill a bag move it out, don't let it pile up, you might start second guessing yourself!
Once each room is clear of the items that are no longer needed, winter items packed away and you've cleaned it top to bottom now it's time for the magick ;) start clearing.

Tips and Tricks To Freshen It Up!

Make lavender sachets for all the bedrooms, tie them to the headboard or place under the pillow for sweet dreams. You can also add a small piece of amethyst for dream retention, so you remember those sweet dreams!

Using distilled water a few drops of your favorite essential oil make a room cleansing spritzer in a spray bottle and zap some fragrance into the air. Think citrus' for inspiration and energy, rosemary and basil work great in the kitchen. Need to spice up the love life? Try some patchouli in the bedroom ;)

If you're not familiar with it already, go to the library and get a book on feng shui. You will immediately notice the difference a little furniture placement can make on the energy of your home and life.

Clear our a little niche outside just for you, apartment dwellers...pick your favorite window and set up a special spot just for lounging, meditation, or whatever makes you happy.

Treat yourself to fresh flowers. I always have fresh flowers in the house. If I can't make it to the florist for some, I head over to the local supermarket and pick up a couple of bouquets. When I get them home I break down each one and put some in each room. They brighten and uplift the air and your spirit.

Cleanse your stones, and any crystals you have hanging in the windows. Don't forget your witch balls! Wipe them down with soft cloth, cleanse and recharge them for another season.

Hanging crystals throughout the home will also help to get the energy moving and make for some beautiful rainbows throughout.
